Our Story - Hola Amigos!
First things first: thanks for landing on our site :) whether you are wanting to take a piece of Peru home with you or not, we are already extremely grateful to have you here!
Now, how did this project begin? If you are into love stories, you are really going to enjoy reading this!
It all started back when we met in the summer of 2021, in the midst of a global pandemic. After only 3 days of knowing each other, we decided to travel all around Australia together in a van, surfing, hiking and being free from all the craziness that was happening in the world. Everyone thought we were crazy (and probably we were / still are!) but something about embarking on this adventure together felt good in every cell of our body, and neither of us could deny it.
It wasn’t until we arrived in South Australia that winter kicked in, and with the cold weather came the warm, cozy clothes (yay!). For some bizarre reason, Bruno had a Peruvian jumper made from Alpaca which he had purchased when we had been in Peru way before he had met me, Fernanda. He wore this jumper literally every damn day and got compliments for it from every person that crossed paths with us.
I had a similar jumper made from Alpaca too, which kept me warm and cozy during the winter months and which sparked the same positive reaction in people every time they saw me wearing it.
“Hey… I know this sounds crazy but I also know you are crazy so maybe you’ll say yes… What do you think about bringing these jumpers from Peru over to Australia so that people can be as warm and cozy as we are and look as good as we do? Plus, we would be providing employment for Peruvian people and giving back to this wonderful country that we love so much… what do you think?”
Well, you know what we thought, don’t you? 😛And I hope you are happy with our idea, how it came to life and the line of products we have chosen beyond the initial jumper idea.
If you can’t go to Peru… don’t worry - we’ll bring Peru to you!

Fernanda
Hola! I’m Fernanda, one of the co-founders of Pisko Textiles. A Peruvian at birth, heart and soul, who resides in the beautiful coastal town of Byron Bay, Australia. I moved to this side of the world when I was 21 as part of my University student exchange and well, the rest is history… I just never went back! Oopsie (sorry not sorry dad!)
As crazy and spontaneous as this decision was, it’s probably one of the best decisions I ever took and definitely one of the most pivotal moments of my life. Since then, I experienced a massive transformation inside-out, as I fell in love with the chill, laidback, mindful and nature-oriented Aussie way of living.
That’s why in my free time, you will most likely find me outdoors, either surfing or swimming in the ocean, biking and singing around town, doing day hikes (or multi-day hikes if I have more time - even better!) or camping. I also practice Yoga & Pilates almost on a daily basis (and I teach too!), I like to journal, write poetry, learn about people’s stories, connect with beautiful humans and have a sense of community.
I love crafting experiences that allow for people to experience all these things that I just mentioned which fuel my soul and which have helped me so much in achieving a sense of freedom, presence and connection in my life. That’s why, outside of Pisko, I dedicate my time to designing and leading mindful adventure travel for the female community in Australia and worldwide, particularly in Peru where, as I said at the start, my heart and soul is (little marketing spam… check out our upcoming Peru Adventure Retreat here!).
With all that being said, I am so grateful you somehow landed here, and whether it is through a Pisko product or through our life stories, I can’t wait to connect with you!
Con mucho amor,
Fernanda x

Bruno
Hello everyone, I'm Bruno, one of the creators of Pisko Textiles.
A bit about me: I was born in the south of Brazil, with a strong cultural background from the region. I've always been curious about new cultures, places, and social interactions. I'm passionate about adventures of all kinds, constantly seeking balance between my job as an engineer and my hobbies. If you can't find me in the office, I'm probably out catching waves or hiking in the mountains.
I found in Pisko a way to share Peruvian culture with the world, feeling deeply connected to its vibrant traditions and wanting to support the wonderful people of Peru. This country has not only earned my greatest appreciation but also my heart. It's no surprise that I fell in love with a Peruvian. Back in 2017, during my first trip there, I bought this amazing alpaca jumper that I wore throughout many winters to come. I'll let you guess how this story ends.
